Review Guidelines
Vfane uses a positive-only review system. Here is how it works and what we expect.
Positive-only reviews
Vfane only allows positive reviews. We ask homeowners one question: “What did this contractor do well?”
We believe the right signal is who homeowners choose to vouch for. A contractor with 20 completed projects and 18 enthusiastic endorsements is telling you something true. We do not allow star ratings, numerical scores, or negative feedback.
Who can leave a review
Only homeowners who completed a project through Vfane can leave a review. This means:
- The homeowner submitted a project through Vfane
- The contractor was matched to that project
- The contractor marked the lead as “Completed”
- The homeowner received a review invitation
You cannot review a contractor you found outside of Vfane.
One review per project
Each homeowner can leave one review per completed project. This is enforced at the database level. You cannot submit multiple reviews for the same project.
Reviews are permanent
Once submitted, reviews cannot be edited or deleted — by anyone. Not by the homeowner, not by the contractor, and not by Vfane. This ensures reviews are authentic and cannot be manipulated after the fact.
No incentivized reviews
Contractors may not offer discounts, payments, upgrades, or any other incentive in exchange for a review. Homeowners should only leave a review if they genuinely want to share their experience.
No fake reviews
Submitting a review for work that did not happen through Vfane is grounds for account removal. This applies to both homeowners and contractors who attempt to manipulate reviews.
Reviews are not endorsements
Reviews reflect individual homeowner experiences. They are not endorsements by Vfane. A positive review means one homeowner had a positive experience — it does not guarantee the same outcome for your project.
What makes a good review
The best reviews are specific and helpful. Consider mentioning:
- What the contractor did well (communication, timeliness, quality)
- How the contractor handled unexpected issues
- Whether the contractor was professional and respectful
- Whether you would hire them again
