How Trust Pillars Work

Every contractor on Vfane chooses trust pillars that represent their strengths. We verify each one through public records — not self-reported claims.

What are trust pillars?

Trust pillars are specific data points about a contractor's business. Each contractor selects 3 to 7 pillars from a pool of 12, grouped into four categories:

Business Foundation

  • Years in Business
  • Business Insurance
  • Professional Credentials
  • Permit Track Record

Technical Excellence

  • Manufacturer Certifications
  • Labor Warranty
  • Material Warranty

Customer Experience

  • Response Commitment
  • Financing Options
  • Language Capabilities

Reputation Bridge

  • Google Review Score
  • BBB Rating

Verified vs Claimed

VVerified

Confirmed through an independent public record — TX Secretary of State, RCAT directory, manufacturer portal, Google Business Profile, or BBB. The data has been checked and the source is cited.

Claimed

Reported by the contractor. Not yet independently verified. Claimed pillars can be upgraded to Verified when public records confirm the data.

Important:"Verified" means the data point has been confirmed through public records. It does NOT constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or guarantee of work quality. Always verify credentials independently before signing a contract.

How matching works

1

V Advisor learns your needs

Through conversation, V Advisor understands your project type, urgency, and priorities.

2

Your priorities shape the ranking

Different homeowners value different things. The algorithm weights pillars based on your stated preferences.

3

All contractors are ranked

Every contractor receives the same pool consideration. Your profile only changes the order — it never excludes anyone.

Data accuracy & disputes

Contractors can dispute any pillar data point they believe is inaccurate. Disputes are reviewed within 7 days. During review, the disputed metric shows "Under review." If the dispute is valid, the data is corrected.

Vfane collects data from TX Secretary of State, Houston Permitting Center, BBB, Google Business Profile, and manufacturer directories. Data uses approximate ("+") language and is verified on specific dates. It may not reflect the most current status.

Legal note

Vfane is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Vfane scores businesses, not individuals. Data is not furnished to third parties. Verification does not constitute endorsement.
