Terms of Use

What Vfane Is

Vfane is a free online marketplace that helps Houston-area homeowners find residential roofing contractors. We are a matching tool — not a contractor, not an advisor, and not a party to any deal you make with a contractor you find here.

We do not employ, supervise, or control any contractor on our platform. Every contractor listed here is an independent business.

What Vfane Is Not

Vfane does not provide professional advice of any kind. We are not licensed contractors, engineers, attorneys, or insurance professionals. Our AI-powered educational tools give general information to help you prepare for conversations with contractors — nothing more. Do not rely on anything on this platform as a substitute for advice from a qualified professional.

Vfane has no involvement with insurance adjusting, claim filing, claim documentation, or any insurance-related professional service.

Trust Scores

We compute a Trust Score for each contractor using publicly available business records — things like permit history from government databases, manufacturer certifications from public industry portals, business entity standing from the Texas Secretary of State, and business insurance verification from contractor-provided documentation.

What Trust Scores are: A numerical measure based on public data. A way to see which contractors have verifiable business records.

What Trust Scores are not: A guarantee of work quality. An endorsement or recommendation. A promise that any contractor will do good work on your specific project. A warranty of any kind.

When we say a contractor is “Verified,” we mean their publicly available records meet our minimum scoring threshold. That is all it means. Trust Scores can change at any time as new data becomes available.

Your Responsibility

If you are a homeowner, you are responsible for independently checking any contractor's qualifications, insurance, licensing, references, and reputation before hiring them. Vfane gives you data to start with — but the hiring decision is yours alone.

Hiring a contractor involves real risks, including the possibility of property damage, construction defects, delays, and cost overruns. Those risks exist regardless of a contractor's Trust Score.

The Platform Is Free

Vfane is completely free for all users — homeowners and contractors. No fees are charged. No subscription is required.

Contractors may choose to make voluntary donations to support Vfane. Donations are entirely optional and have absolutely no effect on Trust Scores, search rankings, visibility, or any other platform feature.

Limitation of Liability

Vfane is not responsible for any contractor's work, behavior, or performance. We are not a party to any agreement between a homeowner and a contractor. To the maximum extent permitted by Texas law, Vfane is not liable for any damages — including property damage, financial loss, personal injury, or any other harm — arising from your use of this platform or from any contractor you find through it.

Because the platform is free, Vfane's total liability to any user for any claim related to this platform is limited to one hundred dollars ($100).

Reviews

Vfane uses a positive-only review system. Only positive experiences can be shared. We do not allow negative reviews or star ratings. Reviews reflect individual homeowner experiences and are not endorsements by Vfane.

Privacy

Your use of Vfane is also governed by our Privacy Notice, which explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Your continued use after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute must be brought in the state or federal courts in Harris County, Texas. Before filing any formal claim, please contact us first — we will try to resolve it directly.

Agreement

By using Vfane — including creating an account, browsing contractor profiles, or using our matching tool — you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
