IKO residential shingle lines — Cambridge (flagship), Dynasty (mid-tier), Nordic (Class 4)

IKO's residential line runs Cambridge (the flagship architectural — known for the ArmourZone reinforced nailing strip, a wide contrasting band that gives a more visible nail target, plus FastLock self-sealing; limited-lifetime material, NOT Class 4), Dynasty (a mid-tier upgrade, not Class 4), and Nordic (the UL 2218 Class 4 impact-rated SKU — polymer-modified for flexibility, with a wider ArmourZone and a 130 mph wind rating). The enhanced Iron Clad warranty runs through IKO ROOFPRO Select or Craftsman Premier certification.

IKO runs the standard flagship/impact split with a mid-tier in between. The flagship is Cambridge — an architectural shingle whose distinctive features are the ArmourZone reinforced nailing strip (a wide, contrasting-color band that gives the installer a more visible, install-forgiving nail target) and FastLock self-sealing bonding; it is limited-lifetime material and NOT impact-rated. Dynasty sits between Cambridge and Nordic — a mid-tier upgrade with some of Nordic's color blending and texture but without the Class 4 impact rating. For hail, the impact-rated SKU is Nordic — IKO's highest-performing line, using polymer-modified asphalt for the flexibility and tear resistance to pass UL 2218 Class 4, with a True Square Advantage extra-large exposure, a wider ArmourZone nailing surface than the base Cambridge, and a 130 mph limited high-wind warranty. Class 4 is the rating that may qualify a Texas home for an insurance impact discount (confirm with your agent; cross-reference D1-002). The enhanced Iron Clad Extended Protection Limited Warranty runs through IKO ROOFPRO Select or Craftsman Premier certified contractors (cross-reference D9-004). What to ask on an IKO quote: Cambridge, Dynasty, or Nordic — only Nordic is Class 4 — and the contractor's ROOFPRO Select / Craftsman Premier status if the Iron Clad warranty matters. Cross-reference D1-009 for the general comparison framework.
