Atlas residential shingle lines — Pinnacle Pristine (flagship), StormMaster Shake/Slate (Class 4 designer)

Atlas's residential line runs Pinnacle Pristine (the flagship architectural — known for integrated 3M Scotchgard algae protection warrantied for the shingle's lifetime, 130 mph with the 6-nail high-wind install; it is Class 3-rated, not Class 4) and the StormMaster family (StormMaster Shake and StormMaster Slate — UL 2218 Class 4 via Core4 SBS-modified asphalt, with a 150 mph wind rating that is higher than the typical Class 4 SKU, and a designer shake/slate aesthetic). The enhanced warranty runs through Atlas Pro Plus or Signature Select certification.

Atlas, a privately held maker with strong Texas-region presence on hail-belt installs, sorts its line a little differently — its impact line is also its designer line. The flagship architectural is Pinnacle Pristine; Atlas was the first major brand to integrate 3M Scotchgard Protector for algae resistance, warrantied for the lifetime of the shingle (rather than a separate shorter algae warranty), and Pinnacle Pristine carries a 130 mph wind warranty with the 6-nail high-wind install and Atlas starter strips. It is Class 3 impact-rated, not Class 4. For hail, the StormMaster family — StormMaster Shake (wood-shake aesthetic) and StormMaster Slate (slate aesthetic) — uses Core4 Polymer Modified (SBS) Technology to achieve UL 2218 Class 4 and a 150 mph wind rating, higher than the 130 mph typical of competing Class 4 SKUs; it also includes 3M Scotchgard and 3M Smog-Reducing Granules. Because StormMaster carries a designer profile and Class 4 together, it covers both the impact and designer tiers (there is no separate non-impact designer line above Pinnacle Pristine). Class 4 is the rating that may qualify a Texas home for an insurance impact discount (confirm with your agent; cross-reference D1-002). The enhanced warranty runs through Atlas Pro Plus or Signature Select certified contractors (cross-reference D9-004). What to ask on an Atlas quote: Pinnacle Pristine or StormMaster — only StormMaster is Class 4 impact-rated — and the contractor's Pro Plus / Signature Select status if the enhanced warranty matters. Cross-reference D1-009 for the general comparison framework.
